This is another brief check-in. After this weekend I hope to be a more frequent writer on this blog.
I am still working on the graphics for the supplement. I also need to cut about 500 words to keep it within the contracted word count limit. That shouldn’t be too hard since the supplement is 24,500 words right now, so just 2 percent needs to go, which should be reasonably straightforward. My plan is to send this to the publisher on Monday, which means that I expect to work long hours tomorrow and Sunday.
I’m thinking about characters and settings for the upcoming novel. I look forward to sitting down to write it. That probably won’t be until Monday, though. I plan to write the novel substantially into the dark so I’m not exactly sure what it will look like yet.
What else do you need to know? Oh, right! My internet is wobbly. What that means is that it frequently drops connection (often several times an hour). This is frustrating enough on a normal basis but it also makes using Zoom and other video chat programs for any period of time nearly impossible. So if you were wondering why I wasn’t attending more Zoom events or why I suddenly left, that’s why.
That’s it for today’s check-in. I hope you are doing well. I’ll see you on the flip side of this project. Be well, friends!
