Making Things Happen

My house renovation will start on Tuesday, which means that it’s been a year since we first connected with our designer (who is the absolute definition of the word ‘fabulous’).

Starting Tuesday the contractor will take out exterior walls and create new ones, create new rooms where nothing except a giant void existed before, put down new floors and new doors and windows, create an entire new look for the ceilings, and so many other things that it would be impossible to list them all. Our Phase 1 list of things to be done spans four crowded pages. It’s going to be be amazing. I’ll give you the Before and After once Phase 1 is done.

Note the term ”Phase 1.” This is a big job so it is being done in phases. Phase 1 deals primarily with structural elements (walls, doors, windows, floors, etc.). Later phases will focus on paint, furniture, and other decorative elements.

It’s an exciting time!

Time Management for Pantsers

Speaking of exciting projects, Linda Maye Adams is writing a book on Time Management for Writers (especially pantsers) and she’s posting it on her blog as she writes. Chapter One is available now. Check it out here.

Books and Game Deals

One of my absolute favorite books is available for free this week: Kristine Kathryn Rusch’s Diving Into the Wreck. It’s gripping. Picture one of Clive Cussler’s underwater archaeological thrillers meshed with your favorite space opera book. So good!

The games we most frequently write for are Chaosium’s Call of Cthulhu and Steve Jackson Games’ GURPS game. GURPS is a the focus of several Bundle of Holding deals this week and next. It’s a great set of deals and well worth checking out.

I hope you are doing well and practicing self-care if you feel tossed around by the maelstrom this week.

Be well, friends!
