This is just a short post to let people know that I am still alive and didn’t fall into a portal leading to another world, fun as that may be.
I am working on a number of projects and courses and this is spinning me around a bit and messing with my productivity. One of my projects is getting the paperback out for Lightning Scarred. Look for that in a month or two. I’ll let you know when I put it up on Amazon.
My writing partner and I tried Jessica Brody’s outlining and fast drafting method again. It was a miserable failure. Our muses packed their suitcases and tripped out the door without so much as a goodbye. So that experiment is over. Now we are leaving little trails of gingerbread hoping to lure the muses back home.

There are several methods of writing that I have explored. One that might work for me is the way C.L. Polk writes, which is sort of a piecemeal gathering. I already do a lot of this sort of thing when I write short stories. I don’t know how this will work for a novel. It’s distinctly not Dean’s method of just sitting down and letting things pour out. It’s even less organized than that. But it is a possibility.
My secret alter ego placed a story in a prominent anthology, which was delightful. If I keep publishing under that name I may have to set up a web page for it and create a blog of her own. We’ll see.
We may have another opportunity to write for a gaming publication, so we are working on ideas to pitch, though until we know more about the opportunity, we won’t have firm pitch ideas. One of the delights about writing for games that I didn’t realize before writing for games is that Steve is wildly creative. I look forward to our pitch sessions because I know that not only will we get to put together a gaming pitch, I’ll also get some great ideas for fiction.
That’s about it for today. Hope you are doing well and that spring has brought hope and new beginnings to your life.
Be well, friends!
