NaNoWriMo 2019 – Day Five

No writing done yesterday. Instead I did housework and art, as I do nearly every Monday. We also got our flu shots, which means that today I feel slightly under the weather as my body fights the fake flu and makes antibodies to battle the real thing if it comes along this year. Go body!

Today is my first day running a write-in this year. The last couple of years I’ve done this I’ve made good writing friends. Hopefully this year will be the same. I have a box of good prizes for writing sprints. We’ll see what happens. If you want to join me, I’ll be at the Panera Bread in Germantown from 10am to 1pm.

Dean’s prompt for this week’s short story is Numerology and I don’t see how that will fit within Argosy. So I may write a short story unconnected to the novel. We are not required to use the prompts in the Great Challenge, but I have made it a secondary challenge for myself to do it as a way to learn how to write to order for anthologies or in writing classes.

The creator of Mythulhu, a deck of cards I use for writing inspiration, has produced a free writers survival guide for NaNoWriMo with impressive people contributing advice. It’s quite nice and absolutely free. You don’t even need to give her your email address. Check it out!
