It was a small write-in yesterday but sweet, just two of us. Afternoons are never as popular as mornings or evenings. This morning’s write-in is hosted by Jenny at the Panera Bread in Laurelwood and I’ll be going there. Later tonight I’ll be facilitating the Memphis Writers Thursday night meeting. Topic for the evening is Writing From the Five Senses. It should be fun and productive.
I didn’t get as much writing done as I’d planned, largely because I tried to fight the inner writer and she balked. This is a lesson I’ve learned from writing a short story a week. If I want to write fairly fast, I need to give my inner writer her head and allow her to go in the direction she wants to. So I will spend today experimenting to see which way I’m actually going to head. I have a feeling that I may end up with an entirely different novel than I originally intended. That’s ok.
