It has been a difficult day today, both from the raw emotions striking everyone in the country and also on a personal level. I’m glad I was able to get some writing in before it completely devolved and I’m deeply grateful to the Lady Astronaut Club. It’s nice to have a way to work with other people.
This morning I made good use of the rage to add strong words to Ten Reasons the Pirates Always Win. My group told me yesterday that my characters are too nice. This character is no longer too nice. And it’s about time. They’ve stolen her authority, her son, and her identity and now she’s finally ready to kick butt.
I stayed on track with my eating despite a strong desire to crawl into a carton of vegan frozen dessert carrying a shot of brandy. Also, I discovered that I can stress eat lettuce just as easily as chocolate. Surely some sort of evolution in my character.
